Digital fitness for the well-being of patients

Initial situation

Over 25 medical practices already belong to the Praxis Group. As a network of GPs and specialists, the Praxis Group is committed to ensuring that rural regions continue to receive GP care in the future. The emphasis is on "GP care" and not on the establishment of new group practices. The Praxis Group will continue to run the existing GP practices in the long term. It is of the highest priority that GPs provide their services as flawlessly and economically as possible thanks to the use of modern resources. IT plays an important role in this.

Solution

With ITpoint, the Praxis Group is implementing a new IT strategy. First, the data and core applications were moved to an infrastructure that guarantees maximum security and availability. At the same time, a large physical archive repository was digitized, the contents of which will be made available via a document management solution in future. All data is now housed on the ORIA platform in Swiss high-security data centers and is permanently mirrored and backed up. The Praxis Group shares a system with other organizations according to the cloud principle, but uses private, secure areas. Praxis Group employees always access applications and data in the data center in encrypted form.

Citrix technology ensures that only image content is transported to any end device (PC, notebook, tablet, smart phone) and that users - wherever they are - feel as if the data is local. In accordance with the ORIA principle, a team of ITpoint specialists ensures the operation of the systems and provides support in all IT matters.

Advantages & future

The Praxis Group can thus concentrate on its core business and benefit from high IT quality at a moderate price. The system will be expanded as required. From now on, the medical practices will gradually be provided with IT services that support the daily work with patients and relieve the treating doctor and staff of administrative tasks.
