Your role

You will lead a motivated and ambitious Infrastructure Team that is passionate about operating and further developing modern IT infrastructures and cloud services for our customers. Together, you will create stable, secure, and future-oriented solutions and actively drive innovation.

In this role, you will assume technical and managerial responsibility for the team, strengthen collaboration, and support the professional growth of your employees. You will create an environment that prioritizes initiative, team spirit, and technical excellence.

Working closely with customers, partners, and internal departments, you will continuously develop our infrastructure, virtualization, storage, and backup services. You will bring structure to complex issues, drive sustainable improvements, and actively contribute to the strategic expansion of our infrastructure and cloud division.

Your main tasks

• Technical and managerial leadership of the team in the Storage, Compute & Hypervisor division
• Professional development of team members and promotion of expertise and best practices
• Planning, implementation, and operation of virtual infrastructures based on hypervisors
• Responsibility for backup and recovery solutions using Veeam Backup & Replication
• Coordinating and performing system installations and upgrades at customer sites or remotely
• Ensuring system performance, availability, and capacity
• Support for error analysis and escalations at the second and third levels
• Collaboration on and management of projects related to virtualization, storage, backup, and cloud integration
• Documentation of system landscapes and configurations
• Design, installation, and maintenance of storage systems (particularly NetApp)

Your strengths and knowledge

• Several years of professional experience in systems engineering, ideally in the areas of virtualization and storage
• Experience in technical leadership and a clear ambition to take on responsibility as a team leader
• In-depth knowledge of common hypervisor environments
• Experience in the operation and design of NetApp storage systems
• Proficiency in Veeam Backup & Replication (backup, restore, replication)
• Experience with Huawei storage or servers is a plus
• Understanding of IT infrastructure, networks, and security
• Experience in direct customer contact and on-site installations
• Knowledge of ticketing systems and monitoring tools
• Willingness to pursue ongoing professional development and certification (e.g., NetApp, Veeam)
• Very good knowledge of German, good written and spoken English
• Independent, structured, and reliable way of working with a passion for teamwork
