Your role

You’ll handle all IBM i-related matters for our clients. As a communicative team player, you’ll actively engage with colleagues at Sharp DX and with clients to provide them with the best possible services. You’ll think “outside the box” and, thanks to your quick grasp of situations, identify the underlying causes of problems to develop sustainable solutions and improvements.

Your main tasks

  • Operation and Maintenance of Our IBM i Power Cloud
  • Implementation of Customer Projects in the IBM i Environment
  • Customer support via remote assistance and on-site visits
  • Pre-Sales Support
  • Willingness to work on-call shifts, night shifts, and weekend shifts

‍

Your strengths and knowledge

  • You have many years of experience with the IBM i operating system and in implementing IBM i projects involving virtualization and storage integration.
  • You have a very strong knowledge of CL programming, BRMS, and SQL DB2.
  • You have experience working with HMC and PowerVM.
  • IBM i Power certifications are preferred.
  • Knowledge of WebSphere MQ, high-availability solutions (iTera/Mimix), SAN networks, and IBM Storage is a plus.
  • Experience in programming on IBM i—for example, with RPG, COBOL, or Java—is a plus.
  • You are fluent in German and have a good command of English.
