PiRT 2024 took place at an extraordinary venue: the Lindt Home of Chocolate in Kilchberg. The combination of inspiring expert presentations, personal interaction, and a unique atmosphere made the event a resounding success.
A successful start. The event began in the early afternoon with a welcome reception for the participants and a brief introduction to PiRT. It was already clear at this point that the focus was on current developments in IBM i, the cloud, and AI, combined with practical insights.

Dr. Sebastian Lehrig (IBM) kicked off the technical sessions with fascinating insights into the use of AI on IBM Power. The focus was on modern AI workflows that help companies use data efficiently and create new value, ranging from automation to intelligent assistance systems. Particularly impressive were the concrete real-world examples of how AI accelerates business processes and revolutionizes data processing.
IBM i in Transition – The Subscription Model
Following that, Jürg Jelinek (IBM) presented the latest developments surrounding IBM i. A key topic was the transition to a subscription model, which offers companies greater flexibility, predictable costs, and easier access to innovation.
